PRODUCT DESIGN
GROHE

The Smartcontrol valve “Push and Turn” is Grohe`s USP for bathroom products. Expanding the application of this technology to the kitchen portfolio was the next logical step. I pitched the idea in my first year at Grohe and the results are three minimalistic product lines that have changed the archetype and use case of a faucet entirely.

Understanding different user scenarios in the kitchen is the foundation of this project. A lever is the most common way to control water temperature and flow rate at the same time. Seperating the these two touch points and adding a pull out mousseur is the conclusion after careful discovery how people interact with water. Unnoticed small patterns of behaviour and problems were solved with prototypes to fine tune ergonomics and the haptic interaction.
